So what is a niche market? A "niche market" is a specific solution that fulfills a particular problem whether in product or service for a fee and the solution is called a niche market.
Statistics show that people who start a home business doing what they love or have a passion for, are known to stick with their home business over a long period of time and become successful doing it. With that said, in helping you find the niche that's right for you we're going to first focus in on three important niche market principles that will help you define your search.

It must be:
1. Personal: It is something you are familiar with, something you love to do, enjoy or have an attachment for. One that best suits you personality and fits your lifestyle.
2. Practical: It is something you have the ability, experience and/or talent to do and one you can see yourself doing realistically over a long period of time.
3. Marketable. It is a service or product that people would be willing to pay money to have and profitable for you to promote on a daily basis.

From these three principles you can begin to make your list from hobbies, past times and passions to skills, experience and talents. There are also other important factors that play into finding the right niche market and that is evaluating how much time, money and energy will you be able to work this particular niche business and at the same time be realistic with your self, looking at what kind of work you want to do and are capable of doing. For example; if you are allergic to animals you most likely would not want to start a dog walking business or pet hotel. (Just off the top of my head)

Take everything into consideration, take some time and think things through and keep in mind the three niche marketing principles to help you narrow your search until you find one or more ideas that are perfect for you. I never really liked the word "failure". The word "failure".. plain and simple denotes failure. There is nothing that sounds nice about the word "failure". It is not an attractive word and when we hear it, there is not much we can say to refute its' implications. It is said that 95 percent of online internet businesses will fail. Ironically, I had heard this statistic after I purchased both of my home based businesses. It did not give me a very hopeful feeling to say the least, and I actually questioned what I had actually gotten myself into.

I always wondered if these statistics were cited to sell programs and products. Negative advertising does work, because people are actually driven by fear. These statistics can also be a catalyst for the online internet newbie to give up prematurely before actually giving his or her program a chance to be successful. Does "giving up" imply failure or does "giving up" have its' own meaning unto itself.

"Giving up" is definitely related to failure in every sense of the word. I myself, however, would like to change the statistic above to this. " A large percentage of the 95 percent online internet marketing failure rate is a result of "giving up" prematurely, before giving their program a chance to work".

I truly believe that many of us would not give up so fast if we had program sponsors that actually tried to help us get started after they took are money with their "sincere" sales pitch. I have not had the greatest experience myself in this area myself, and I did struggle quite a bit at first. I truly believe in the idea of online business coaching to help the newbie internet marketer get started as it will stop these "failures" before it is too late. ***

Why it’s a BAD Idea to Promote Hot Selling Products on eBay

Do a quick search on Google, Yahoo, or your favorite auction resource site, and you'll quickly discover there are several software programs targeted to vendors who want to promote hot selling products on eBay. The infatuation with hot selling products exists because sellers believe if you target items that have a robust sales pattern, you'll have a better chance at profiting on eBay.
This is both true and false. Yes... hot selling products can improve your bottom line. But unfortunately by the time the average eBay seller

(a) realizes what the hot selling products are,
(b) purchases stock to sell on eBay, and
(c) actually puts the items up for sale, the demand is already being met by other eBay sellers who probably started the hot selling product trend some time ago.
Not only that, with thousands of people also having access to the same hot selling product lists, you'll have to contend with other eBay vendors who have the exact same ideas that you do. So you'll be up against the original sellers who are currently feeding the demand, AND doing the tango with newer sellers who have jumped on the same hot selling product bandwagon that you did. Okay maybe this won't happen to you. But suppose it does. What if competition becomes so great that prices start dipping below the wholesale cost that you paid for the item? (It happens all the time on eBay.) And what if you lose $100, $200, or even $1,000 on inventory that you thought would be flying off the shelf?

Suddenly that hot selling item is looking rather cold sitting in your garage collecting dust. So if not hot selling products on eBay, then what? Do what the majority of PowerSellers do. Sell what you want, instead of what's hot. Repeat after me, "Every day ordinary items sell extremely well on eBay... Every day ordinary items sell extremely well on eBay... Every day ordinary items sell extremely well on eBay." Allow this to become your mantra, because it is very much true.

I know this from first-hand experience as I analyze top sellers instead of hot products. And my research has continuously shown me that mediocre products don't necessarily translate into mediocre sales. For instance, there's a seller right now who clears about $1,000-$2,000 a week selling magnets. And that's AFTER eBay and PayPal fee's. Another seller promotes homemade CD's to a specific audience and clears $900-$2,000 a week. A few sellers make $500-$700+ a week - after expenses - promoting public domain information. And the cool thing about public domain information is that anybody can sell it because it's free.

So that's pure profit by selling something they never paid for. Talk about the ultimate arbitrage opportunity! The ultimate key in succeeding no matter what product you end up selling, is to build a successful strategy. To figure out 'how' to profitably market what you have, instead of chasing after the next great thing. Because once you have the strategy part down, you can sell anything on eBay and make it a hot seller to your bank account. ***

I am writing this article to help others as well as help myself work more productively online. I find that I spend several hours per day online in my home based internet business. A lot of the time I spend online, however, is wasted uproductively and this is truly valuable time we are talking about. I find that at the end of my workday that I have not truly accomplished what I had set out to do earlier in the day. How can we work online in a more productive way throughout our workday?

Here are some suggestions.
1. Write down a list at the beginning of your workday on what you would like to accomplish during your workday. Prioritize those tasks that MUST get done vs. those tasks which you would like to get done.

2. Make sure that you set aside and devote a certain amount of time to these tasks. Do not give yourself too much time for each task because it will leave you open for wasting some of that time on that which is counterproductive.

3. Research what works for you in your type of business. You may spend several hours utilizing safelists that nobody reads and you may waste your precious time earning credits for these lists by spending time reading. I have not found utilizing safe lists as time well spent.

4. Schedule in frequent small breaks so that your mental energy is able to get replenished. Spending hours in front of the computer without a break is going to exhaust you and will most certainly cut down on your productivity.

5. Lastly, reward yourself for all of your efforts by having some fun online doing something totally unrelated to your business. You deserve some fun too!! ***

You will find that there are a lot of people who do not care about their appearance, and that is why they fail at sales. You will find that you are not only selling the products, but you are selling yourself as well. You will want to keep that in mind when you think about you sales numbers.

The second thing that you will need to focus on is your forcefulness. Can you take no for an answer? You have to find a way with words to be a successful salesperson. You will want to make yourself better with words. You need to learn how to think on your feet and how to think quickly. You need to have an answer for every question. These answers need to come quickly too or the client will not trust you or keep their interest in your products.

There is also another thing that you will want to consider. You will not only need to work on yourself, but you will need to work on the products. You will need to take the time to do your own research so that you can make some good points when it comes to selling. Try to pinpoint what are the strengths of the products and how they are different from the others that are on the market.

Make sure that you do your homework, because this will also help you to have the answers and find the answers quickly. You will also find that when you do the proper amount of research, you will be able to find the confidence, but you will have to work for the confidence. You will have to really want to consider all the hard work that you will need to put into each and every sale. You will want to keep in mind that there are some things that must be done. You must do a lot of things and it may include the way that your approach your sales subject, the customer, and the way that you carry yourself. Keep in mind that you not only have to sell the product, but you will also have to sell yourself. You play a key component in your own success. Make sure that you try to keep that in mind when it comes to each and every sale. ***

People like to use the term, "Practice makes perfect". When coaching clients who need the support in sales I like to tell them that, "Perfect practice makes perfect". But not every sales presentation or one on one meeting can be perfect. So how do you practice perfect? Well, one of the things I implement in my coaching is the power of visualization.

Before your success can be a reality, you have to be able to see it in your head. When you have you're mind, you can practice perfect as much as you want with as many different type of people you want. The imagination is a powerful thing. The power of visualization can help you not only in sales but also in other areas of your life like your confidence.

You can literally put yourself in any situation and always come out on top. This is one technique I have to help with my sales clients. Not every techniques works but that's the beauty of coaching, there's always more than one answer it's just a matter of matching the right answer with the right person.

I have my clients rehearse in their head a sales opportunity. I have them visualize the perfect and easiest sale and the hardest most difficult sale. The only catch is that the outcome must remain the same in either, a successful outcome. This type of visualization will help you be prepared for any sales type of situation, why? Because you've been there; you've experienced it just not in physical reality but you have in your mind. Let's for example say that there is a customer who has a whole bunch of reasons not to purchase. Visualize you giving the right answer to persuade them that their reason is wrong.

Now in a real situation, you may get the same resistance you practiced in your head and that's great, because you've practiced in your head what you're going to say and how you're going to say it. Now if by chance, they come up with a resistance that you didn't think of, then it's still okay because in your head you've practiced "Immediate Response". You'll be able to get through the argument confidently. You've practiced immediate response so many times that it's second nature to you whether you've heard the resistance or not.

Now obviously, this is not quick fix, as a matter fact, this is a long-term solution. However, that's what a coach is for. With the support of coach keeping you on track, reminding you of why you're doing the things you're doing, soon enough, this technique will play a major role in your success and or confidence.

I'm a big supporter in long term planning. It doesn't mean that quick fixes don't have their place and I do use them, quite regularly, but the goal is long-term. As a salesperson, if you want to get the most money, the most prestige the most accomplishment in your industry, you have to run the marathon not the sprint. ***

What is ethical fashion, why is it important, and why are we just hearing about it now? Well, to answer these questions we start with what is wrong with clothing production today. Most clothing available in stores today is produced in an unethical manner using sweatshop and/or child labour to ensure a larger profit margin. Manufacturers use unsustainable fabrics like non-organic cotton (dubbed as natural, it accounts for almost 25% of all pesticide use) and polyester (which is a petroleum by-product).

They use conventional dying practices which release chlorine, chromium, and other pollutants into the environment posing a health risk to the farmers, assemblers and wearers (7 of the top 15 pesticides used on conventional US cotton crops are "possible" to "known" human carcinogens). The shift to ethical production practices in the clothing industry has been undeniably important for a long time making the market ripe for a positive change. Consumers are starting to demand better.

What is Ethical Fashion?
Ethical fashion is that which is produced using: fairly-paid and fairly-treated adult workers; sustainable fabrics and materials like organic cotton, hemp, bamboo, and reclaimed or recycled materials; low-impact fiber-reactive dyes or vegetable dyes; respect for a healthy environment and/or product for the farmer, the assembler, and the wearer of the clothing.

Why Ethical Fashion?
We are all responsible for how our own lifestyles affect the environment. Consumers are, in growing numbers, appreciating the right to vote with their dollars; and are exercising it to support expansion of the sustainable textile industry, small farmers and farm co-operatives. We're all looking for ways to reduce our environmental impact, increase our social contribution, ease our consciences, hold on to some creature comforts, and continue celebrating art in all its forms.

The Frame of Revivification
The definition of revivification is:
1. Renewal of life; restoration of life; the act of recalling, or the state of being recalled, to life.
2. Bringing again into activity and prominence.

This exercise uses revivification as a strategy to persuade your wealthiest prospects and clients. I suggest that you read through this a few times, get some practice with a partner or friend, and then give this a try.

In order to really understand revivification, I'd first like you to remember a time when you made a big purchase--a car, a house, a piece of expensive jewelry. And as you remember that purchase, think about how you felt the moment you took ownership of the item. Remember how it felt when that freedom or luxury or piece of security became all yours. How does that feel? By revivifying this moment in your life, I've just reminded you of a groove, a path that you've already traveled, a warm, fuzzy feeling that you already know.

These persuasion strategies have been specifically tailored to easily persuade affluent prospects and clients in a way completely unique to each person. We can ditch the sales scripts on this one, eliminate sales 'tactics' and manipulation and throw out pitches because we're accessing their own good feelings about buying. In revivifying our prospects' well-tread paths and grooves, we've set the groundwork for persuasion. We can assist the process of persuading the affluent by directing our prospects to remember times they did the kind of thing we want them to do.

When we revivify a past experience, we shortcut the difficulty in getting our prospects and clients to do what we want. There's no sense in teaching a dog a new trick if the old trick can be used to get what we want. This is one of the easiest ways to persuade making our jobs really easy. Moving our prospects and clients in the direction of their fond recollections helps us to get them to repeat that movement, to think the way we want, act the way we want, and move back into that direction with us.

If you are a financial planner, for example: Have your affluent prospect think of the first time they made it to a million. What did it feel like when they became a first time millionaire? Can they envision a future when that number is multiplied by ten or twenty? How will that feel?

For real estate agents, try revivifying the concept of "home". Have your clients picture in their heads what home means. If you're getting the sense, as they think about it, that their picture isn't very positive, move it to their dream home. Part of what's important to remember is to not allow our prospects to go off down a rabbit hole, especially one filled with negativity. We need to keep them mentally on track and by maneuvering them from a potentially negative memory (which they may relate to 'home')

If we can get our affluent audience to think the way we want them to, instead of having to teach them something brand new (and especially something that's bad or difficult), well, we've already got half the battle won.

It's that simple.
Revivification is the art of getting people to remember the track so that when they do so with our message, they're already accessing a worn-in pathway. And the minute they start the pathway, people need to complete the pathway. People don't like to leave things half done. This process helps them feel complete. ***

With sales training auto sales training is definitely a constant need in any successful auto dealership and one that you will find many dealerships not implementing properly because of lack of time. It doesn't matter if you are in an auto sales training, TV and radio sales, estate sales or time share sales in my conversations with sales management over the years, I've found that top producers all have one thing in common: they've taken the time to sit down and create goals for themselves and committed to sales training.

1. Sales letter
To be effective your sales letter must be opened, read, believed and acted upon. There are several ways to jump start sales for a new work of fiction, but one of the most effective selling points is your sales letter. But before you actually send out your product, you are going to make sure your sales letter is writing in a way that you can buy the product as well.

2. Increase sales
To make more money you need to increase sales. The images of your products make them seem more tangible and "real" to your visitors and are a powerful sales tool. Branded sales pages can help you enhance your brand and make the purchasing experience less confusing for your visitors. And if you've ever studied your web stats and seen people abandon your sales process at the checkout page, you know that this one aspect can totally kill the user experience, and sink your conversion rate.

3. On sales management
If your sales team is a source of candidates for other positions in your company, you may want to consider whether your salespeople and sales candidates have the attributes required to be successful in those other positions. A sales manager's greatest tools are the ability to motivate, communicate with and support his or her team members, as well as measure the results of the salespeople under his or her guidance and the ability to construct a timeline for the success the team and its members. While the revenue results may vary, the sales manager can see how new salespeople are performing on his or her way to growth and greater revenues and how longer tenured salespeople are performing in and out of his or her comfort zone.

4. Your sales leads
If you don't already have an internet presence to grab your share of leads, don't worry; it is quite easy to do and you can start now. Don't be afraid to leave the beaten path when hunting for sales leads, the internet has been a revolutionary tool for a number of industries and the textile marketplace is no exception. Most big, best in class companies in many industries have now gone to an inside sales function whose job it is to qualify and continue to nurture leads forward, until they're ready for the involvement of outside or field sales.

5. The sales copy
Sales copy that doesn't serve the needs and desires of your web site visitors. Simply put good sales copy is the content of your copy and presentation of your copy put together in such a way that it increases your visitor to sale conversion rate on a consistent basis. Having wasted words in your sales copy is like watching a half-hour sitcom on television, but instead of good TV programming, all you're getting is 29 minutes of commercials and adverts, and only one minute of content.

6. Direct sales
One of the tools that a smart direct sales representative can use to attract new business is a blog. Marketing your direct sales business is one of the most important steps to success. But unfortunately, the DNC legislation has many small businesses that use telemarketers a bit concerned about their choice of direct sales tactic.

7. The sales team
Preparing your sales staff and support team in the planning stages of your proposed promotional campaign will get everyone on board with what they are responsible for, in order to make your event a success. If your company's sales are lagging and you are looking for a way to boost the results of your sales team, look into creating a sales contest or sales incentive program to motivate your sales force.
